Veterans - we have programs just for you!

At CCD we have a variety of services specifically for Veterans who are looking to receive job training and job placement assistance. The training programs we have include female line workers, construction, utilities, healthcare, biotech manufacturing, security, diesel/hybrid mechanics, bus operators, and truck driving/heavy lifting.

Information sessions are held at our Wilshire-Metro WorkSource Center every Wednesday at 9am. (If you're interested in the bus operator class, see the prior post for dates and times of orientations.) Make sure to bring your current photo ID, social security card, DD 214, and your EDD unemployment stub or copy of unemployment insurance exhaustion letter with you.

This just in...another orientation date for the Metro bus driver training

In addition to the new Monday & Tuesday orientations, we are pleased to announce another orientation for Wednesday, April 27, from 10am-3pm at our Compton WorkSource Center. FREE Job Fair in Hollywood May 20

Community Career Development, in association with Assemblymember Mike Feuer, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce,the Miracle Mile Chamber of Commerce, the Woman's Club of Hollywood, the Employment Development Department and others, are having a community-wide job fair Friday, May 20, 2011 from 10am-1pm. Assemblymember Feuer will also be speaking from 9am-10am, discussing jobs and the economy.

The event will be held at the Woman's Club of Hollywood, 1749 N. La Brea Ave. Parking is available at Hollywood & Highland, $2 for up to 4 hours with validation from any of the businesses at the complex.

The job fair is free and open to the public. Candidates of all ages and experience levels are encouraged to attend--come prepared, dressed professionally with several copies of your resume.
